Listen, learn and socialize as Wake Forest professors and other experts speak on timely topics in the comfort of a local bar. This new monthly series features small group lectures, hands-up Q&A and opportunities for conversation.
Talks at the Tap takes place on the last Thursday of the month and features a wide range of speakers and topics at various Charlotte venues. The series will take a break over the summer months.

WHAT YOU’LL LEARN:
Can you legally send your deceased body into outer space? How about set it adrift and aflame on a boat, a la Game of Thrones? Or perhaps your hope is for someone to taxiderm you, attach some antlers, and mount you to the wall? Sadly, your post-mortem possibilities may be limited. But don’t fret—there are other options. Some you’ve probably never even heard of!
From cremation to green burial to composting, So You’re Dead. Now What? Will answer your burning questions around the legal methods of disposition, how trends in death care have changed, and what you should know before you decide what will happen to your body (while your spirit inevitably haunts all those who have wronged you).
Wake Forest Law Professor Tanya Marsh, an expert in funeral and cemetery law, will also discuss some of the lesser-known rules and restrictions around body disposition, share fascinating findings from the “Wake Forest Law Survey on Death Care,” and finally get to the bottom of the famed Luke Perry mushroom burial suit. Yes, it’s a real thing.
