Jeff Welgan is a cyber risk expert who regularly consults, briefs, and trains senior leaders – including Board Directors, CxOs, and other senior executives – on governing and managing cyber risk. In his current role, Jeff heads up CyberVista’s executive and professional training programs, overseeing offerings that serve the training needs of both senior business leaders and cybersecurity practitioners. A believer that cyber risk is a “people problem,” Jeff focuses on people-centric solutions that empower individuals to tackle cybersecurity challenges head-on with confidence.

Jeff’s cyber experience took root from his time serving the US Intelligence Community where he spent 13 years focusing on all-source strategic analysis of cyber threat actors, nation-state cyber capabilities, and cyber doctrines; along with a number of other national security initiatives. Prior to CyberVista, Jeff led and managed a cyber threat intelligence capability at Booz Allen Hamilton, focusing primarily on specialized cyber threat studies for Fortune 100 commercial clients and for multiple government agencies, including the Defense Intelligence Agency, the Central Intelligence Agency, the National Security Agency, the Federal Bureau of Investigation, U.S. Cyber Command, U.S. Special Operations Command, and more. Jeff is a US Navy veteran, where he served as an Intelligence Specialist and a Search and Rescue (SAR) swimmer. As an Intelligence Specialist, he managed and led a team of intelligence personnel through two overseas deployments during and following September 11th, 2001 (Operations Enduring Freedom, Iraqi Freedom, and Noble Eagle). Jeff holds a B.A. in Political Science from Clarion University of Pennsylvania and an M.S. in Applied Intelligence from Mercyhurst University. He is also a certified Project Management Professional (PMP).
